Getting out in nature provides so many learning opportunities. The kids are inspecting an elaborate spider web here.
We are wrapping up a unit on gardening/plants/pollinators. The boys were quite excited to find so many flowers and eagerly inspected the anatomy!
It was amazing to find a yucca in full bloom and marvel that there is only one moth that will sip the nectar and pollinate this beauty. Examples like this just make me stand in awe at the intricacies of this world God created.
These beautiful flowers had an intoxicating scent to match their eye-appeal.
I find the outdoors to be so relaxing and the kids had a similar reaction. I couldn’t help but think of Richard Louv’s book, Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder
I found myself counting, counting, counting the many gifts that He’s given us through his Creation!

After seeing some of these photos…I can see where my logo would remind you of your home 🙂 80 degrees and up huh? One day we’ll be consistently above 60!!

Wonderful! Your nature walks are a lot different than ours. I would love for our girls to take a desert walk or even a prairie walk.

I LOVE these photos! We need to come for a visit to find out what desert life is all about 🙂 You can only get so much from pictures in books. You’ve made it a little more real. I’ll have to show your photos to the kids. We MIGHT be able to wear spring coats here today, LOL! What different parts of the world we live in and yet our lives are so entwined as “sisters in Christ” and homeschoolers with our “short people” 🙂
