Written by Heather Haupt 7 Comments

I’m blaming this on genetics…Β
My mom’s weakness was Diet Coke (aka ‘mom pop’).Β  Mine is cookies.

    Heather – thanks, friend!

    Simple Joys – so true.

Mima, I’m cunning… I keep a stash of frozen dough balls in the freezer that can be baked at a moments notice! Once baked, they don’t last long around here. πŸ˜‰

I don’t remember any cookies around your house? You know Pa would find them!

But we are just doing it for their good. πŸ™‚

I remember my mom always said FOR EVERYTHING that she did that I was not allowed to do: “It will stunt your growth.” Definitely in the genes here.

So when our kids are grown ups they can decide to ingest as many worthless or harmful products … white sugar and/or carbonated drinks… as they want!

Thank you soooo much for sharing those details about your changes. It’s very similar with me because the Lord asked me to step away from my photography business to focus more. It was difficult to hear but I prayed that He would remove the desire for it and He did. Since then, life has been much slower and more focused. I wish I could say I’ve obeyed and taken a real advantage of the extra time but this is where the new habits come in.

That’s great that you are memorizing Colossians. I got to verse 4 and am now struggling. All of life is a discipline, isn’t it? Obedience. So very, very important. If we could only understand the rewards for this are amazing!

    Have a great day!

Oh dear me, mine is cookies too.. and cake and…
Perhaps these could be part of the habit removal as well? πŸ™‚
Thanks for your comment. In your conviction, I was convicted all over again! Boy, these bearing one another’s burdens thing really works, doesn’t it? πŸ™‚
I’d love to hear more about the difficult changes you’ve made.

Instagram post 2233099506281729942_1420023259 You can have a usually tidy home or regularly imaginative children, but seldom do the two simultaneously go hand in hand. She's playing house, raising her children, and informed me she's in the middle of moving... 😯 We can tidy up later... or not... as is evidenced by the hand made basketball hoop still hanging to the side which we ended up incorporating into our space for the time being. Instagram post 2232104592257556739_1420023259 The teen years are such an amazing season of coming into your own, thinking deeply about the world around you as you transition into adulthood. My teens have stepped up to new challenges this year with their education that have really stretched them (and me). Mondayy, my oldest participated in his first debate. This guy has delved deep into Scripture and borrowed books to understand both sides and prep for his debate. All four did a fabulous job thinking these issues through and participating with their assigned position and I love the conversations it has sparked between the four of them as well as in our own home! .
