Let’s Educate Whole-Hearted Children {Giveaway}

Written by Heather Haupt 64 Comments

I am just so inspired and encouraged as I read in the comments from Monday’s post about what kind of legacy you all want to leave your children.  Isn’t it so amazing to walk in community and unity in our goals?  Of course how that plays out will be unique as each family dynamic is different […]

Hidden Art and For the Children’s Sake

Written by Heather Haupt 51 Comments

Let the party begin.  Here’s our first stop!  ******* Hidden Art? As I juggled a baby on one hip and wrangled a toddler with my free hand, my mom came into the room with a book for me.  I think she saw my nose crinkle a bit when I saw the title – Hidden Art […]

One Word: FOCUS

Written by Heather Haupt 4 Comments

Have you seen people talking about their year in terms of ‘one-word?’  {My new blog-friend, Erica over at Spoonful of Imagination wrote about hers recently…} It is funny because I’ve found myself gravitating towards that for the last couple of weeks.  In fact, I had planned out a whole series that I wanted to share.  But […]

Prayer: Opening Eyes to See the Miracle

Written by Heather Haupt 4 Comments

My heart sank when Rich came into my parents kitchen where I was nursing Greta to let me know that our van was overheating… We just sat staring at one another for a few moments – silently speaking volumes. We both winced internally, simultaneously considering the cost involved for repairs and the probability of turning around.  Boys gathered around […]

Our Daily Dose of Science!

Written by Heather Haupt 4 Comments

Monsoon season has a way of luring us outdoors…  The smell of the creosote, the dip in temperature and puddles, puddles everywhere! I think the boys couldn’t be more pleased with the ‘daily outdoors challenge’.  They know that if I’m feeling iffy on going outside that they can just bring this up and hold me accountable! […]

A Wordless Book: Life Made Beautiful…

Written by Heather Haupt 6 Comments

In talking about wordless books, I wanted to revisit a little book we created that is near and dear to my heart.  Making our first ‘heart lesson’ book last spring began a beautiful conversation with my second child which culminated in him turning his dirty heart over to Jesus for a miraculous cleaning a couple of […]

In a fit of mental abstraction, I started a new book AND a grilled cheese at the same time. Shakespeare analysis and cooking do not go hand in hand. 😖😜 #brightestheavenofinvention #peterleithart #shakespeare

The security at the airport said that was the most lemons they had ever seen someone bring thru on a carry on. So excited for homemade strawberry, blueberry, and vanilla lemonade, my husband's specialties!

After several days of gray cold, sunshine beckoned us outside. Actually, they've been working on clearing an area for this fort all week even in the cold. Today is finally warm and 🌞 enough for me to traverse the mesquite forest to join them... #NatureTherapy #everychildoutdoors #momtoo
Instagram post 2233099506281729942_1420023259 You can have a usually tidy home or regularly imaginative children, but seldom do the two simultaneously go hand in hand. She's playing house, raising her children, and informed me she's in the middle of moving... 😯 We can tidy up later... or not... as is evidenced by the hand made basketball hoop still hanging to the side which we ended up incorporating into our space for the time being. But there is peace when we recognize the purpose in their play. #powerofplay #wildandfreechildren #encouragingimagination
Instagram post 2232104592257556739_1420023259 The teen years are such an amazing season of coming into your own, thinking deeply about the world around you as you transition into adulthood. My teens have stepped up to new challenges this year with their education that have really stretched them (and me). Mondayy, my oldest participated in his first debate. This guy has delved deep into Scripture and borrowed books to understand both sides and prep for his debate. All four did a fabulous job thinking these issues through and participating with their assigned position and I love the conversations it has sparked between the four of them as well as in our own home! .

👉👉 Learning to research, learning to reason, and learning to listen to another's arguments are such invaluable skills that will stick with them for the rest of their lives! 👈👈 We are thankful for Worldviews of the Western World curriculum and the Worldview Classes in our area that have provided so much for our homeschool year.
